Everything you open a Dota app for
Counter picks that know you.
Tap in the five enemies and the four allies you already have. The draft shows the heroes that counter them, the ones to avoid, and warns you when your team is missing a role.
- Best counters and heroes to avoid for the whole enemy line-up
- Link your account to see your own record against each enemy hero and alongside each ally
- Synergy with allies and missing-role warnings
Your personal numbers only count once you have 8+ games on a hero. A three-game sample is noise, so the app ignores it.

The best hero from your pool, not from the internet.
Smart pick ranks the heroes you actually play by how you perform on them, then weighs that against the enemy line-up. Pool check goes the other way: it finds the popular heroes your pool has no answer to.
- Recommendations weighted by your own win rate on each hero
- A gap list: popular heroes none of your pool beats
- The heroes to learn next that would close the most gaps

S to D, for your rank and your role.
A tier list built from live win rates and pick presence on the current patch. Switch the rank bracket or the role and the list re-ranks, so you see the meta that applies to you, not the one from the pro scene.
- Filter by rank bracket and by role
- Every view keeps a full S–D spread, so there is always a top tier to read
- Heroes with too few games are left out rather than ranked on noise

See how you really play.
Link your account by nickname or ID and get a profile that goes further than win rate: whether you are on the rise, and whether long sittings are costing you games.
- Recent form: your last 20 games against the 20 before them, plus streaks
- Session drop-off: how your win rate changes the longer you keep queuing
- Win rate by lane, most played heroes, career averages and per-hero percentile

Your numbers, against the hero’s benchmarks.
Open any match for the full scoreboard: both line-ups, KDA, net worth, items and damage. If you played in it, the app also places your GPM, XPM and other stats on that hero’s benchmark curve.
- Scoreboard with items, net worth and damage for both teams
- “Better than X % of games on this hero” instead of a raw number
- Stats you never contested, like a support’s last hits, are skipped, not scored zero

Questions
Is it free?
Yes. The app is free. There is a single banner on the home screen, and the draft has no ads at all.
Do I have to sign in with Steam?
No. To see your own stats you search your nickname or account ID and pick your profile. The app never asks for a password.
Why is my profile empty?
OpenDota can only see matches you have made public. In Dota 2, turn on “Expose Public Match Data” in the options, play a game or two, and your stats will start to fill in.
Where does the data come from?
Hero statistics, matchups, benchmarks and matches come from the OpenDota API. News comes from the Steam news feed. Hero and item art is loaded from Valve’s CDN.
Is it affiliated with Valve?
No. Dota Insight is an independent fan-made app. Dota 2 is a trademark of Valve Corporation.
