Dota Insight: Draft & Stats · Last updated: 2 October 2026

Dota Insight: Draft & Stats (“the app”) has no user accounts and does not ask for your name, email or password. This page explains what the app keeps on your device, which outside services it talks to, and how advertising works.

1. What stays on your device

The app saves a few settings locally, on your phone only: your language, whether you finished the welcome screens, the account ID you choose if you link your Dota 2 profile, your hero pool, and cached statistics so screens open faster. None of this is sent to the developer. Clear the app’s data or uninstall it and it is gone.

2. Services the app connects to

  • OpenDota (api.opendota.com) supplies hero statistics, matchups, benchmarks, player search and match data. When you search for a player, link your account or open a profile or match, the nickname or account ID you entered is sent to OpenDota.
  • Steam (api.steampowered.com) supplies the Dota 2 news feed.
  • Valve’s content network (cdn.cloudflare.steamstatic.com) supplies hero and item images.
  • Google Play shows the optional in-app review dialog. The app asks at most once, and the dialog and anything you write in it are handled by Google Play, not by the app.

These services can see your IP address and the requests you make, as any website or API does. They are run by their own operators under their own privacy policies.

3. Advertising

The app shows one banner ad on the Home screen, served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device’s advertising ID and other device and usage data to choose and measure ads, as described in Google’s privacy policy. You can reset your advertising ID or turn off ad personalization in Android’s Google settings. The draft and every other screen contain no ads.

4. Permissions

The app asks for network access to load data and images, and for the advertising ID that AdMob uses. It does not ask for your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos or files.

5. No analytics or tracking by the developer

The app does not include analytics or crash-reporting services of its own and does not build a profile of you.

6. Your player data

Profiles and matches shown in the app are public data from OpenDota. They only exist there if the player has made their match history public in Dota 2. The app does not change or publish that data. To remove your data from OpenDota, use OpenDota’s own tools.

7. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

8. Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the new version will appear on this page with a new date. For questions, use the developer contact shown on the app’s Google Play page.
